How to play
Tap four words you think belong together, then press Submit. A correct set locks in place as a solved group. A set with three words from one group is “one away” — close, but it still counts as a mistake.
- You have four mistakes. Use them up and the puzzle ends, with every group revealed.
- Daily puzzles change once a day. Your Daily streak only counts Daily wins, and only one win per day.
- Unlimited gives you a random puzzle from the bank, whenever you want a second helping.
- Hints come in three levels: a general nudge, then a clue for one unsolved group, then the name of that group.
Every puzzle is food: cuisines, ingredients, dishes, techniques, and a few wordplay sets where the link is the word itself, not the food.
Questions
When does the Daily puzzle change?
At midnight UTC. Everyone playing Daily on the same day gets the same puzzle.
What happens after the archive runs out?
The archive only shows puzzles up to today — future puzzles appear on their Daily date, so you cannot play tomorrow's puzzle early from the Archive. After the last archive date the Daily puzzle cycles back through the bank; archive cards keep their first-cycle dates.
Do I need an account?
No. Your streak, played puzzles, and solved puzzles are stored only in your own browser.
Can I share my result without spoiling it?
Yes. The share text shows only the puzzle number, the date, the mode, a row of neutral squares in the order you solved the groups, and your mistake count. It never includes group names or words.
